[Things had been pretty hectic lately. What-all with the game and the shenanigans involved that were terrible but held such great rewards... Even now, he can still remember it so clearly, as if it just happened not too long ago. He could still recall it all, especially the way he felt as it was all happening. How absolutely frightened and enraged he felt, how he wanted to just give up, but he didn't. He held hope throughout their hardships, oh my god did he try.

And their endeavors payed off in the end, it really did. Things would finally calm down eventually, or calm down enough.

So, because of this actual sense of calm that even Eridan can feel, as the two of them laid in the grass of lodag, Eridan looked surprisingly relaxed at the moment, which... even for him it felt almost odd in a way, he was happy. He looked over to Feferi and was about to speak, but he was caught off-guard. He did this once in a while, just reflecting for a moment at what they've been through already and just how damn lucky he was to not have screwed up in the ways that other versions of himself had by this point. However, he eventually gets over it as he spoke to her.]

I guess... I can finally say I'm happy for our current situation, all happenstances that'we occurred aside.

[Sob. Taking a shaky breath, he closes his eyes to try to get this over with as quickly as he can.]

Fef, I'we come to pity you a whole lot. [wait no that's not all c'mon keep on going Eridan. He stops and places both of his hands on one of her own, and oh god here comes the words.]

A-an' I mean, yeah, certainly as moirails an all. Especially way back when we were really helpin' each other and stuff, but... I mean, maybe--- maybe somethin' a bit... in the uh. In a bit of a more... redish way, perhaps. I mean, yeah, call me crazy an' all but, I just. I'we been thinkin' maybe instead of bein' pale we could... maybe. Y-y'know, s-somethin' more?

[ Biting her lip, Feferi pulls back a little. She hangs her head to one side and all her hair cascades with it. ]

You know, Eridan... when we first started the game, I had this really great idea that you wouldn't need me as a moirail anymore because you wouldn't be a danger to anyone. But then when I found you on your planet killing consorts, I figured, maybe you did need me for a little while longer! Even if you were stubborn and difficult, we needed to win the game even more. So I never got to tell you. But now...

[ She shifts again, her shoulders slumping. ]

You've grown up. And I don't think you need me anymore for good reasons. You're better than that now! So, I don't think we should be moirails anymore...

[ Wait for it... ]

[He listens to what she has to stay, curling his arm around his waist as he did. She was so right about all of this and even he knew it. He had no idea what he'd be doing now if she didn't stop by and help him get better when she did. But the thought that his behavior had been getting better in her eyes was, well, it was nice to hear. He almost forgets to respond when she trails off, caught up in his own thoughts for the moment. Hastily he fixes that, though it sounds a bit sloppy.]

A-Am I really? And-- you don't?

[Oh that's a good thing, in a way, but... he's still nervous about this. ]

S-so do you w-want to be...?

[ OH NO, she has to look away dramatically to hide her big dumb smirk. ]

I didn't say anything about that! I just said that we shouldn't be moirails anymore because you don't need it!

[Oh don't tease him like that Feferi, he thinks you're being serious!! Look at his frown just grow considerably as his fins move down as well. This is getting upsetting...]

Oh... so you don't want to be moirails or matesprits?

[No seriously don't do this it hurts the fish.]

It's just that I don't think being matesprits would be a good idea!

[ Oh god no she can't do this anymore, she's busting up laughing when she turns to face him again and more or less flings herself at him, and pulls him into a big hug. ]

I think it'd be a great idea!

[Yeah he's trying to process that, like wow. He almost falls over when she flings herself at him in the hug, trying to just. Holy cow she said yes wow this is just too much for him, oh no.]

[ It's okay, she will occupy herself kissing his cheek until he comes back to reality. ]

[It doesn't take himself that much time at all to come back down. He sweeps her down into a quick hug and presses their foreheads together before kissing her over and over. God he's just so so so elated. After a number of kisses later he pulls back a hair and just grins.]

I'm so happy, I'm so fuckin' happy right now.

[ She'd like to kiss him back but she's too busy laughing shrilly. ]

Eridan! Eridan, clam your fins!

[Eeeee, he loves that so much! He loves a lot of things right now but that especially.]

Auuugh, I can't. I just can't. I'm too damn happy right now to clam anythin'!

[ She puts her hands over his fins, even though that's... not really what she meant but still. ]
